Case Study: The intersection of Abortion, Faith, and Politics in Texas - My work with Just Texas + SACReD.

Over the course of the past 5 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the organizations Just Texas and SACReD Dignity (The Spiritual Alliance of Communities for Reproductive Dignity).

Both organizations focus on Reproductive Justice- specifically with the mission of providing intersectional abortion care and inclusive, comprehensive, educational resources to religious communities around the country. Navigating careful messaging to create invigorating visuals and content that resonates with traditionally conservative communities is a constant dialogue, and it’s one that I enjoy.

I designed the logos, brands, and websites for both Just Texas and SACReD- and worked with these organizations closely to establish a user-friendly brand kit, sample content, and merch. I then trained the teams and junior designers/content creators on usage of the brand kit and voice in platforms like Canva for Teams. During my time at Just Texas, I internally trained the team on Podcast recording and produced/edited their Repro Justice Podcast: At The Edge of the Lege.

Long form Layout Design

During my time at the Texas Freedom Network and Texas Rising, I designed and illustrated a booklet about the complicated history of Sex Education in Texas, and the steps needed to help implement effective and culturally appropriate curriculum. We collaborated with SIECUS on this report.

After consulting with the comms team about visual direction based on their messaging, I helped edit the copy for this booklet and began designing and illustrating. I worked collaboratively with the comms team, leadership, and even the board on 10 rounds of design. The booklet was then printed and distributed at actions and digitally around Texas during the SBOE (State Board Of Education) session.

Event Design

Energy Thought Summit

ETS is the biggest event of the year in Energy and Utility industry thought leadership. During my time at Zpryme Research, I led design and creative direction for three years of ETS. From owning marketing design and strategy to creating engaging content to drive registration for our events- I worked closely with vendors and venues to make sure that people showed up to something beautiful.

Design Included: Vinyl/Window Clings, Agendas, Sticker Sheets, Large Scale Signage, Wayfinding Signage, Digital Signage, Backdrops, T-Shirts, Speaker Cards, Panel Cards, Hotel Keys, Awards, environmental design, and more.

- Increased email opens by 63% in one year, for an end total of over 2 million opens in 2022.

- Created, managed, and executed a weekly content calendar resulting in over 350 strategic emails and over 600 posts across 16 platforms in one calendar year, nearly doubling following through organic content.
